I decided to finish up my Tahno speedpaint from a couple of days ago to practice my coloring. Because according to the poll, I should improve my coloring. Thank you for the feedback.
UNFINISHED PIECE
I am quite happy with this piece, took me quite long to detail the whole thing. I know the water's not perfect, but that's the best I can do at the moment. I'll try better next time. But I'm quite satisfied with his face, and his clothes.
I would really appreciate it if you leave me a critique. I would love to hear what I could improve from my drawings.
EDIT : Thank you so much for all the reviews! They're really helpful! I fixed some things, like the position of his right arm, his skintone, and also his hair color. I hope it's better now.
I think this piece is amazing. I like how you made the water 'glow'. The picture overall looks very deep and impressive, but I think his pose is a little unnatural, so it looks kinda weird in that perspective. His hair is a little too red....I was thinking maybe it would be more of a blue-violet, although, I do like how much detail you put in it. Also, I like how the ruffles and stuff in his outfit look normal, unlike how some people 'over-do' it. You did a really nice job with this; keep up the good work. BRAVO! ^-_^
The picture overall is, honestly, amazing. A lot of the "issues" with the picture primarily lie in the small nuances. I noticed that the shading on his right arm is rather sub-par in comparison to the rest of the piece. It looks disconnected and like it doesn't really belong in the picture. I like the contrast quality, but I'm not sure how I feel about it being quite so dramatic. I think you also shaded his waistband a little too heavily, but that's just me.
The only other issue that I could really raise would be Tahno's skin tone. He's very pale and it seems strange to me that he's so dark. But that could be lighting... I don't know. I'm being picky.
Amazing work! The smug expression looks perfect and the water is done in a really neat way! The hair also looks great, and the foreshortening is flawless. Great job!
